Parking Ordinances
The following are highlights of several Pepper Pike ordinances
that pertain to vehicular parking. The overviews presented here
are not intended to replace actual and complete wording. If more
information is needed, please feel free to contact the Pepper Pike
Police Department for clarification.
The City of Pepper Pike prohibits the parking of any vehicle
at any time under the following conditions:
1. Within ten feet of a fire hydrant or within twenty feet of a
crosswalk.
2. Within thirty feet of a stop sign, flashing beacon or traffic
signal.
3. Parking is prohibited upon the main or traveled portion of the
roadway when it is practicable to stop, park or leave the vehicle
off the driveway. This ordinance also applies to landscaper vehicles.
4. Parking is prohibited in any public or private location where
so designated by sign or pavement marking.
5. Parking is prohibited in any location signed as "handicap
parking" unless the vehicle' driver possesses and displays
a current state placard. Violation of this ordinance is subject
to a $250-500 fine.
6. When vehicular parking is permissible on the streets, vehicles
should only be parked on the side of the street that is opposite
of the fire hydrants.
7. Parking on city streets is prohibited when snow has accumulated
to two inches or more.
8. Parking a motor truck, bus, or business or commercial vehicle
on a roadway or any residential driveway is prohibited except while
delivering goods or persons, or while rendering services to the
residence.
9. Parking a recreational vehicle, trailer or boat in any residential
driveway or on any residential premises, other than storage in a
private garage, is permitted only for a total of seven days in any
90-day period.
10. Between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM, no person shall park
a vehicle on a city street. The police department can grant special
permission for residents that may be having overnight guests, parties,
or driveway work being performed.
11. Vehicles may only park on cul-de-sacs if sufficient passage
remains for the free travel of school busses or emergency vehicles.
