Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District
Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District Round-Up Schedule for 2003:
- Computer Round-Up: April 23 – May 7
- Phone Book Recycling Campaign: June 1 – July 31
- Scrap Tire Round-Up: no dates at this time
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Round-Up: October 16 –
November 6
This round up includes oil-based paint, pesticides, hazardous
chemicals, etc.
All dates are subject to change.
The Solid Waste District provides round-ups as a means of disposing
of items that are restricted from our facilities, such as HHW and
tires. The purpose of the other round-ups is to recycle materials
that otherwise would be placed in landfills. For example, items
donated to the Computer Round-Up are both refurbished and placed
in schools or broken down so that the metals and plastics can be
recycled. Up until last year the City could not collect phone books,
therefore the Phone Book Recycling Campaign was the only time residents
could get rid of them. Now residents can drop their phone books
off in the paper recycling bin near the Service Department or hold
on to them until the County round-up.
Numerous other materials are restricted from our facilities that
are not rounded up by the County. The Solid Waste District has compiled
a list of companies who will take such items. In addition, if residents
wish to get rid of items before a round-up is available, the following
list may help.
